![]() ![]() You would have a different option in the Program Vehicle menu to Return to Stock to select for this. Lastly if you are wanting to return the vehicle to stock for things like a visit to your dealership or other work being done on the truck the return to stock set-up would be the same when connecting and disconnecting the tuner. ![]() Below is a video covering the process of reconnecting the harnesses to the PCM which is just a reverse process of when those were removed. Once this is done the tune file is loaded and you would be good to start the truck and go enjoy the updated tune on the vehicle. Once you have the tune file loaded you are then able to disconnect the tuner from the PCM and begin to then reconnect all 3 of the harnesses to the PCM. Another video here shows those steps of the tune loading process. The first time doing this will be the longest as the device is also saving a copy of your stock tune to return back to in the future if you choose to. This process is done similarly to other vehicles and using the Program Vehicle menu to go through the loading process. Once you have the tuner connected to the PCM you are then ready to load up a tune file to the truck. Below is a video from SCT that shows the simple process of disconnecting these harnesses and setting up the tuner. All 3 of these harnesses need to be removed so the tuner and PCM cable kit can be used to connect to the PCM. You would then need to locate the PCM and Harness which are on the passenger side of the vehicle near the fire wall. To begin make sure the vehicle is parked safely and then pop the hood of the truck. The new process of loading tune files to the 2021+ F-150's with the SCT X4 devices require you to pop the hood of the vehicle and disconnect the main harnesses from the PCM and connect the tuner there using the included custom PCM cable. The tuner can still be connected to the vehicles OBD-II port to read trouble codes, vehicle information and record data logs. This process is only needed for loading of a tune file or returning the vehicle back to its stock tune. (If you don't pull the injector clips, the fuel rail will make contact with the manifold.) It will also run like crap until you put your first OP tune on it.With the new computer systems on the 2021+ F-150's the process has changed on how to be able to load to tunes to the vehicle. You will probably need a spacer (like a washer) on the 4 fuel rail bolts to fill a small gap. Will not fit deep enough into the fuel rail UNLESS you do not use the stock fuel-injector clips!.which is completely OK! OP and all the above-mentioned videos will also state this. The one important thing to note: These injectors are taller than the stock injectors and Installation is straight-forward, you can find a number of videos on YouTube that show exactly how to do this. There's only so much you can do to a Cyclone without forced-induction and E85 is a welcome, significant improvement if you already have everything else. Feels like I'm using a throttle booster, but I'm not. Instant 10%-15% power boost and response across all rpm and really fills in the gap at lower rpm. I remember asking Bama to add more throttle boost to my tune and they simply don't make changes like that. I could immediately feel that shifts were taking 1/3 less time to complete and I could feel a lot of throttle boost across all rpm and especially in 1st gear (low rpm). I could tell right away that the OP gas tune was superior to the canned, Bama tunes I was using previously. I also liked that their favored injector (in the kit) is a genuine Ford part (OEM for the GT500). Because of the amount of service I received before I purchased, I was convinced that I would be in good hands. Second, I talked via email at great length with one of their tuners, Lee Ament, and he was happy to take all the time I needed answering questions with detailed answers. First, they specialize in the Cyclone whereas a lot of tuners don't want to bother tuning it (.cause what's the point?). I bought the E85 conversion kit for my 3.7 from Ortiz Performance (OP) for a couple reasons. ![]()
